Manage food categories
Rename a category to update existing inventory automatically. Categories with inventory cannot be deleted until their items are reassigned.
All data stays in this browser on this device. No account or network is needed after the first installation.
Keep backups outside the app. Clearing browser/site data or uninstalling may erase your inventory. Backups replace current data when restored.
Storage health & recovery
Select Check storage to verify your saved data.
The database export is an additional recovery option. It does not replace regular JSON backups stored outside your phone. Storage protection depends on browser support.
Smart scanning
New barcodes can be looked up online using Open Food Facts; saved products are remembered offline. Package dates are unique to each batch. Camera date reading is experimental and requires browser TextDetector support.
Barcode and QR scanning
Use the Scan button in Inventory. Camera scanning uses the built-in browser BarcodeDetector where supported. Manual code entry is always available. New grocery barcodes require manual product entry; saved barcodes are matched offline.
Custom QR labels identify a particular inventory entry. They do not encode an expiration date independently. Use HTTPS and grant camera permission.
Expiration reminders
Dashboard alerts are shown for items expiring within 7 days. This version does not send scheduled background notifications.
Expiration dates are user-entered and do not independently establish food safety.
